Nick Gournis was a hard-working 50-year-old Greek immigrant who had become prosperous through his video arcade. On Dec. 23, 1988, two teens peering through the window of Gournis’ Galactic Amusements arcade on Kingston Rd. at Victoria Park Ave. saw Gournis laying inside, battered to a bloody pulp.

Vanished: The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann
Episode 1: "A Family Holiday Turned Nightmare"
Ontario Cold Cases - Canada’s True Crime Podcast: World Cold Case Thursday’s. Today, we begin a journey into one of the most infamous missing persons cases in modern history: the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
It was the spring of 2007 when a seemingly ordinary family holiday turned into a global mystery. Gerry and Kate McCann, along with their three children—two-year-old twins and their eldest daughter, three-year-old Madeleine—arrived at a picturesque resort in Praia da Luz, Portugal. It was supposed to be a peaceful getaway for the British family, a chance to unwind in the coastal town. But on the evening of May 3rd, 2007, their lives were shattered.

Go back to the Golden Era of detective fiction and enjoy stories in the tradition of the greats of writing. From Agatha Christie to Raymond Chandler to John Creasey, these are short stories I hope you enjoy.
The rain fell like dark needles on the neon-soaked streets of Los Angeles. It was one of those nights when the city hummed with a low, dangerous energy, and every shadow held its breath. I was nursing a bourbon in a bar that smelled of regret and stale smoke when she walked in. She was tall, with legs that went on longer than most dreams and eyes that could make a man forget his troubles—or remember them in painful detail.

The Last Walk of Jason MacCullough
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Ontario Cold Cases - Canada’s True Crime Podcast, Cold Case’s from around the world, every Thursday.
It’s been 25 years since the murder of Jason MacCullough.
After a party, he took a shortcut through Highfield Park, a children’s playground connecting Joseph Young to Pinecrest Drive.
At 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 1999, Jason was shot in the back of the head at near point-blank range.
He was a 19-year-old kid who had never been involved with criminal activity. There was no financial, sexual or personal motive. Jason wasn’t robbed. Whoever killed him took nothing of value. It was, in every sense, a senseless crime.
So, who killed Jason MacCullough?
