The Last Walk of Jason MacCullough
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Ontario Cold Cases - Canada’s True Crime Podcast, Cold Case’s from around the world, every Thursday.
It’s been 25 years since the murder of Jason MacCullough.
After a party, he took a shortcut through Highfield Park, a children’s playground connecting Joseph Young to Pinecrest Drive.
At 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 1999, Jason was shot in the back of the head at near point-blank range.
He was a 19-year-old kid who had never been involved with criminal activity. There was no financial, sexual or personal motive. Jason wasn’t robbed. Whoever killed him took nothing of value. It was, in every sense, a senseless crime.
So, who killed Jason MacCullough?

The Elusive Alibi
“A series of burglaries had plagued the wealthier districts of London, the culprit elusive as a shadow, leaving behind no trace but for a single clue at each scene: a playing card. The press had dubbed the unknown thief "The Velvet Shadow" for his smooth, almost aristocratic methods. But what troubled West most was not the thefts themselves, but the growing suspicion that they were a mere prelude to something far more sinister.”

Kevin Ives and Don Henry, The Boys on the Tracks
Ontario Cold Cases - Canada’s True Crime Podcast, Historical Crime Tuesday’s.
On a fateful night in August 1987, the lives of two young men, Kevin Ives and Don Henry, were tragically cut short in a horrific incident that would shake their small Arkansas community to its core.
A train engineer encountered a horrific scene that would haunt him forever. As his freight train barrelled through Saline County, Arkansas, he spotted two lifeless figures on the tracks. Despite his desperate attempts to stop the 6,000-ton freight train, it was too late.
The events that led to this devastating conclusion were shrouded in mystery and controversy. The official conclusion by the medical examiner, was that the boys had died accidentally under the influence of marijuana. However, this ruling was highly questionable and sparked outrage, with many suspecting foul play. The circumstances surrounding this tragic incident remain shrouded in mystery, leaving the community devastated and demanding answers.
Just how far up did the corruption run and who was involved?

Police were aware that a number of children were being attacked and assaulted throughout the city. In fact, Gary was not the first child murdered. Nor would he be the last.
