The Corpse in the Cocktail
Ontario Cold Cases - Canada’s True Crime Podcast fictional episode of Whodunnit Wednesday’s.
Go back to the Golden Era of detective fiction and enjoy stories in the tradition of the greats of writing. From Agatha Christie to Raymond Chandler to John Creasey, these are short stories I hope you enjoy.
John J. Malone was nursing a gin and tonic at the Club Royale. He’d barely taken his first sip when Helene Brand stormed in, all perfume and panic.
“Malone, you’ve got to help me,” she said. “It’s Roger.” Roger Fairfax, the millionaire playboy and Helene’s off-and-on fiancé, had been in the papers more often than not. “He’s dead!’”
“I threw a little gathering last night—just a few close friends, nothing out of the ordinary. Roger was supposed to come, but he never showed. Or at least, I didn’t think he did. I went to bed around midnight. This morning, I found him… slumped over in the cocktail lounge. Dead. There was a half-empty martini glass in his hand, and he looked like he’d been there all night.”

Justice for Mia Zapata: The Murder That Shook Seattle
Ontario Cold Cases – Canada’s True Crime Podcast, Historical True Crime Tuesday’s
Today we’ll be exploring a tragic and senseless murder that rocked the music scene and the city of Seattle in the 1990s: the murder of Mia Zapata.
Mia Zapata was the vibrant, passionate lead singer of the punk band The Gits. Known for her powerful voice and electric stage presence, Mia and her bandmates were rising stars in the Seattle music scene during the early ‘90s, a time when the city was emerging as a hotbed for alternative music. But Mia’s life was tragically cut short on the night of July 7th, 1993, when she was brutally attacked and murdered.
The murder of Mia Zapata became one of Seattle’s most notorious unsolved cases, and her story left a lasting impact on the city and beyond. Forensic technology played a crucial role in bringing her killer to justice, showing the power of science in solving even the coldest of cases. The case also shone a light on violence against women, particularly women in vulnerable situations, and spurred efforts to create safer spaces for women.

More victims of accused female serial killer arrested in Toronto, Hamilton, Niagara Falls deaths?
Hello, this is Jay Nicoll from Nicoll Investigations and this is an Ontario Cold Cases special edition.
The cold-blooded murders stretch from Toronto to Niagara Falls and have all the earmarks of a serial killer.
Cops made the shocking announcement Friday afternoon that they had arrested a woman suspected in the deaths of three people — and possibly a fourth — between Tuesday and Thursday. The homicides occurred in Toronto, Niagara Falls and Hamilton.
Niagara Regional Police officers arrested 30-year-old Sabrina Kauldhar of Toronto on Thursday at a Burlington Hotel. Kauldhar has been charged with first-degree murder in the Hamilton homicide and second-degree murder in the Toronto and Niagara investigations.
Chillingly, two of the slayings were random.

Gideon and the Silver Spectre
Ontario Cold Cases - Canada’s True Crime Podcast fictional episode of Whodunnit Wednesday’s.
Go back to the Golden Era of detective fiction and enjoy stories in the tradition of the greats of writing. From Agatha Christie to Raymond Chandler to John Creasey, these are short stories I hope you enjoy.
Commander George Gideon of Scotland Yard had seen more than his fair share of horrors. After twenty-five years on the force, he had developed a sixth sense for trouble—a sense that tingled now as he gazed out the window of his office in New Scotland Yard.
“Sir, this is Inspector Lemaitre. We’ve had a report of a body found in Mayfair. It’s a strange one, sir.”
Gideon’s eyes narrowed. “What do you mean by ‘strange,’ Inspector?”
“The body was found in a locked room. No sign of forced entry. And the victim was frozen in an expression of abject terror. His skin had a strange, silvery hue, as if drained of blood and life.”
